Buland Bharat ki Buland tasvir

Dear friend

It was very shocking to me in September 2008 when I reached Sonauli (India Nepal border) district of Mahrajganj in Utter Pradesh. I was there for a special news assignment for our channel E.T.V. News. During the coverage of my story I saw lots of children involved in smuggling. They were passing many prohibited items to Nepal. The Indian Government has prohibited some items like sugar, rice, urea and some edible things for export to other countries. To control smuggling there are police, Sashastra Seema Bal and Custom Officers are posted. They try to stop smuggling at border. Due to availability of force smugglers are not getting success. To face Security Force’s challenges smugglers have made children as medium. For little money, parents give their children to smugglers who use them for smuggling. Many parents are getting attracted due to money and involving their children in smuggling rather than sending them to school.Police and S.S.B are able to control smugglers but not able to control children involved in this process. Mr B.S. Toliya; commandant of S.S.B. Says we are trying to control but In front of children we feel helpless and fail. Local police officers say we have act (Juvenile Justice Act) to control this activity but our soft corner towards children stop us for arresting children. It is very shameful that many N.G.Os are working in Mahrajgang and some are getting big fund for child development from funding agency but what type of development of children is happening there, I could not see.

Who is responsible for preparing this type of new generation??? I think the whole systems of our society are equally responsible for it. As a media person/social activist/police/beurocrates/policy makers/judiciary person /politicians and human being we can feel self responsibilities and start to contribute something from our very busy schedule, perhaps we can change system.

This is my opinion, what are you thinking about it???????????????????????????

Waiting for your suggestions, response and many more that you give to your nation

dear mr.Rohit,
u have just saw it once when u visited there(sonouli border). But this is routine work.I went Nepal few days ago on a tour with my friends for 4-5 days. While returning, when we crossed border, a three starred Indian policeman blocked the way with 2 others, and asked to show our bag and baggages, though we are not carrying any unauthorised things, we are forced to give 50 Rs.and they allowed us to go without checking our bags.this is all about our indian police, now one can easily imagine...........
