प्रो० डॉ अमिताभ ठाकुर, मेम्बर ऑफ़ पार्लियामेंट, संसद भवन, नयी दिल्ली को
प्रेषित एक रजिस्टर्ड पत्र के अपने पते पर प्राप्त होने पर आईपीएस अफसर अमिताभ
ठाकुर पूरी तरह अचंभित हो गए. यह पत्र सैंथिया, जिला बीरभूम, पश्चिम बंगाल निवासी मानिक कुमार दत्ता द्वारा
ऊपर लिखे पते पर भेजा गया था पर यह अंत में अमिताभ के पते पर सुपुर्द किया गया.
इस सम्बन्ध में अधिक जानकारी हासिल करने पर ज्ञात हुआ की यह पत्र 27 जनवरी 2016 को सैंथिया में पोस्ट
किया गया था और नयी दिल्ली जीपीओ में 02 फ़रवरी को प्राप्त हुआ लेकिन यह 20 फ़रवरी तक उसी पोस्ट-ऑफिस
में पड़ा रहा जिसके बाद इसे वापस कम्प्यूटरीकृत सोर्टिंग सेण्टर (सीआरसी) दिल्ली
भेजा गया जिन्होंने अपने स्तर से लाल स्याही से यह पता लिखा जो आज 22 फ़रवरी को उन्हें प्राप्त
हुआ है.
अमिताभ ने कहा कि इस पूरी प्रक्रिया ने उन्हें भारतीय पोस्ट की कार्यप्रणाली
के प्रति गहरा प्रभाव डाला है, जिससे हर पत्र को अपने गंतव्य तक पहुँचाने की उनकी
भावना जाहिर होती है.

A registered letter marked to Prof Dr Amitabh Thakur, Member of Parliament, Parliament Bhawan, New Delhi delivered at his Viram Khand, Gomti Nagar residence took IPS officer Amitabh Thakur completely by surprise.
The letter sent by one Manick Kumar Dutta from Sainthia, district Birbhum, West Bengal was marked at the above address but it was finally delivered to Amitabh’s residence.
On further enquiry made in the matter, it was found that the letter was posted at Sainthia on 27 January 2016 and was received at New Delhi GPO on 02 February but it remained undelivered till 20 February after which it was sent back to Computerized Registration Sorting Centre (CRC) Delhi which on its own wrote this address on the letter, which has been delivered to him today, 22 February.
Amitabh has said that this entire process has truly impressed him about the working of India Post, showing its commitment to deliver each letter to its possible destination.
