PAWAN KUMAR BANSAL
NEW-DELHI
Times of India has carried a front page report claiming that five
days before former corporate affairs D,G,B,K, Bansal and his son
,Yogesh allegedly ended their life, the later appears to have
declared around RS.2.4 Crore under the Income Declaration Scheme 2016
of the Income tax department. Million dollar question being asked in
political and administrative circles is that will Prime Minister
,Narender Modi order high level probe to find out as who in the
department has leaked this information to the paper. According to the
provisions of the scheme all information was to be kept secret and
leakage has made mockery of the scheme. Those who had declared black
money under the scheme now fear that their identity will also be
disclosed to vested interests. It is feared that several potential
declarants may now have second thoughts .It is the serious case of
breach of trust and confidential clause of the scheme.
Was leakage of the information to divert the attention from the
allegations of torture by the family .Family has blamed C.B.I for
deaths alleging extreme torture .Although the agency has ordered
internal probe into the suicides. But equally important is the fact to
find that whether the agency itself has leaked information to divert
the attention from allegations of torture .Suicide has shocked the
nation C.B.I,s spokesperson, R.K.Gaur has said that we have decided
to probe the allegations of torture adding that the agency is fully
committed in conducting an investigation in a fair and professional
manner without harassment to anyone and strictly within the
parameters of law. In their suicide note Bansals have alleged
torture by five C.B.I. officers.
