New Delhi, 09 April 2020: Suleman Narzary, a resident of Kokrajhar Rupathi Nagar Ward No. 3, BTC Assam, lodged an FIR against Promod Boro, the President of UPPL(United People’s Party Liberal),a regional political party of Bodoland Territorial Council Assam at Kokrajhar Police Station on Monday under the IPC Section 182, 505 (1) (b) for spreading False information on the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Suleman Narzary is a resident of Assam, Kokrajhar Rupathi Nagar Ward No.3. He lodged an FIR against Promod Boro, the President of UPPL, a regional political party of Bodoland Territorial Council, Assam at Kokrajhar Police Station on Monday under the IPC Section 182, 505 (1) (b) spreading False information on the Covid-19 Pandemic.
His FIR reads: Kindly accept this FIR Letter under IPC Sections 182, 505 (1) (b) for spreading Fake information by Promod Boro, President of UPPL stating more than 30,000 Corona infected Person in India on BODOLAND रादाबthe Regional Bodo News Channel on 5th of April 2020 whereas as of now 6th April 2020, as per Central Govt. Data there are only 4200 plus Positive Cases in India”.
We are facing a very bad time due to Covid-19 Pandemic. The Central Govt and the State Govt. urged people not to make any faulty statements on Covid-19. Here we have Promod Boro President of UPPL who is disseminating false information.
I am compelled to lodge the FIR keeping in mind the common interests of the People of BTC.I have submitted the Video footage of BODOLAND रादाब in Pen Drive to the Officer In-Charge of Kokrajhar Police Station as a proof of evidence where Mr Boro clearly stated that the Corona infected persons has crossed 30,000 in local language on 5 April 2020.
