IFWJ's former Secretary General Andhare Passes Away

Andhare will always be remembered by the newspaper employees of the country

New Delhi, 1 May. Indian Federation of Working Journalist has deeply mourned the death of its former Secretary-General, an accomplished journalist and trade unionist Manohar P Andhare. He passed away on 29th April at Secunderabad (Telangana). He was 94. He was living with his son, who is also a journalist with a Hyderabad based English daily He was the editor of Yugdharma daily of Nagpur.


He had worked hard for submitting the voluminous representations of the IFWJ before the Bhachhawat Wage Board. His contribution to fighting for the implantation of the Wage Board Award for the employees of the prestigious Law Journal ‘All India Reporter’ will always be remembered by the newspaper employees of the country.

He was not keeping good health for some time. A few months back when Shri Prakash Dubey, the editor of Dainik Bhaskar, IFWJ leader, and former member of the Press Council of India Shri Prakash Dubey met him at Secunderabad, he informed the IFWJ President BV Mallikarjunaih and many others about the serious illness of Shri Andhare. He was a selfless fighter, and his commitment was to ensure respect for the dignity of work.
