Azad Adhikar Sena National president Amitabh Thakur has written to Police Commissioner Lucknow and Electronics Ministry, Government of India for action in the extremely controversial posts made by Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg.
He said Mr Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook and Instagram that he is raising cows in his ranch to produce the best quality beef and is giving beer to them.
He said cows are extremely sacred in India and such posts are going to deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Indians.
Amitabh Thakur said Mr Zuckerberg might not know this fact but the officials of Facebook and Instagram in India would necessary have known this and needed to take appropriate action immediately in the matter.
He said the gross negligence of the social media officials is clearly objectionable.
Amitabh Thakur has sought registration of FIR in the matter and immediate deletion of these posts in India. He has also requested to direct the social media intermediaries to device effective means to immediately react in any such instances in future.
