Owner's side said there should be no Interim Relief

June 16, 2008
Dear friends,

The hearing for recommending the rates of Interim Relief were held for two days by the Wage Boards and at the end of the hearing proposals for the quantum of Interim Relief were made but no decision could be arrived at. The Chairman adjourned the meeting and the declared that the next meeting would be held after 15 days.

The employee's side proposed 65% of the basic pay, and the owner's side said there should be no Interim Relief but a proposal for 25% was brought up by the member secretary and was supported by another independent member.

Thus, therefore there are three proposals before the board. An informal attempt for an agreement was made from the employees' side but the chairman was keen on postponing the meeting for two weeks. The matter rests there.

As for as NUJ(I) is concerned it made very impressive power point presentation through a team of Shri Rajendra Prabhu and Shri Ashok Malik. No other organization before the board presented such a detailed and well documented case.

This is all for your information and sharing it with other friends.

With best wishes
