SPIRITS SOARED AT THE LAUNCH OF O GOD SAARE HAI FRAUD

- Atul Kushwah

It was indeed a fantastic evening which saw a wonderful turnout of celebrities. The lead pair of Shreyas Talpade and Mugda Ghodse, looked every inch ravishing while Johny Lever and Sharat Saxena lent a lot of spice to the glittering evening, like only they could. Incidentally, it is after a long gap of 50 years that a Maharashtrian pair has been teamed in a Hindi film in the romantic lead. In the presence  of  Ajay Nath Sahadeo, Mayor of Ranchi and S.K. Sinha, The Superintendent of Police, Jharkand, all the four actors performed in front of the camera for the mahurat shot of the film O God Saare Hai Fraud and regaled every one with their own inimitable brand of satirical comment on the political situation today. The veteran producer Pahalaj Nihalani was the chief guest of the evening, who blessed the producers. Dolly Bindra arrived late at the venue with her brother in tow, wearing a bandana and looking like a yogini.

Also present at the function were the stand up comedy artiste Navin Prabhakar, Yogesh Lakhani, Mamta Sharma ( of the song Muni Badnaam Huwi fame), Kunal Ganjawala and Manish Raisinghani, besides Udit Narayan and Divya Dutta, who had come with her mother. Director Ashu Trikha explained that his film is not just a comedy and the seriousness can be gauged with whatever is happening in and around us in society today. Mugda, who had to catch a flight to Vaishnodevi left the venue earlier after obliging all the snap shooters, while Johny and Shreyas shared their thoughts about how the film was different and meaningful, yet an out and out commercial entertainer which has not been seen till date on the Indian screen. The spirits soared higher and higher as the exciting evening carried on well beyond midnight.
